How WordGoal works

FOUR WAYS TO
MASTER A WORD

WordGoal goes beyond listen and spell. Every game trains a different part of word knowledge — sound, structure, change and family.

The game line-up

A DIFFERENT CHALLENGE. THE SAME GOAL.

Each short game ends with independent spelling, but the route to that spelling changes.

01

Listen · spell · score

Match Play

Hear a word in a sentence, type it from memory and take a shot at goal. Speed and accuracy build the score, while instant feedback and carefully timed clues help missed words stick.

Played across the Training Ground and the Leagues.

02

Build the word

Build-up Play

Put prefixes, roots and suffixes into the right order. Once the structure makes sense, hide the word and spell it independently from memory.

Morphology turns one tricky spelling into meaningful parts.

03

See words change

Tactical Changes

Start with a familiar word, transfer it into a new form and notice exactly what changes. Children learn the spelling rule, then prove it by spelling the new word.

For changes such as busy to business and equip to equipped.

04

Find the family

Pick the Squad

Select the words that truly belong to the same family, spot the shared spelling connection and finish by spelling the target word from memory.

Children learn relationships between words, not isolated lists.
